Horizontale Zonnewijzer in front of the Molen de Valk

Today we set out in the early afternoon to find the post office, and then to have our first football training with the club UVS.  We discovered that the postal system in Holland was privatized several years ago and all the post offices in Leiden are now closed.  Turns out that stamps are bought at any grocery store and there are mailboxes around town.  Arriving at the football field, the coach let us know that the fields were closed, despite there being a clear blue sky and bright sunshine, due to the overnight snow that had melted before noon.  So our alternative adventure found us at this sundial, built in front of the Mill of the Falcon in 1983.   We talked about how it works and discovered that the shadow had moved from 1:30 to 1:45 in the 15 minutes we were there.  Looking forward to visiting the 7-story windmill on another day.
